Day & Night Wash The next step to a "clean and clear" face is to wash your face daily morning and night. Washing your face helps to remove dirt and dead skin cells that is on your face. When you don't wash your face, the dirt and dead skin cells build upon your face clogging your pores, in which they cannot breathe, resulting into an unhappy pimpled face. Your pores need to breathe just as you do. Remember, you can not be lazy on this step. Most people begin the routine of washing their face daily, morning and night, but then they slowly discontinue the process and ask themselves a few days later, "Why isn't my skin clear?" It's not clear because you stopped your regimen! If you are saying to yourself right now, "Ugh, I don't have enough time." or "It is too much effort.", then you will not see the best results. You should continuously use the cleanser for a minimum of 4 weeks, to determine if you see some improvement or not. Make sure that you are washing your face morning and night or washing your face as the directions on the cleanser tells you to. Be diligent and you will be happy with your results. Moisturize, Moisturize, & Moisturize Moisturizing your face is another important step to achieving flawless skin. Moisturizing your face helps to keep your skin from drying up and also keeps your skin nice and soft.  It is best to moisturize your face with something that is oil free and fragrant free. Again do thorough research on the type of moisturizer you should purchase for your skin type. You are what you think, you are what you do, and you are what you eat. To obtain flawless skin you have to watch what you eat. Eating a lot of oily and greasy foods can lead to an increase of breakouts on your face. Begin to eat healthier one day at a time to improve your diet. A healthy diet produces healthy skin, and healthy skin dramatically increases your chances of having flawless skin. We're all hoping for it to come soon.  The warm weather, shining sun and the cool breeze. It's such a great time of the year. With the seasons changing, our wardrobes change along with it. We begin to wear lighter clothing, flowy dresses and skirts. This year when making the transition, make it chic, savy, and playful. Tips for Dresses & Skirts Think of spring as a playful and happy type of season. Imagine how you can incorporate it into dresses and skirts. Your dresses and skirts should be feminine and playful. Be sure to wear your dresses and skirts in a manner that represents you best. You don't want to wear anything that gives the wrong impression of who you are. You are a divine being, let others treat you with respect by observing what you wear. Tips for Shirts Bright colors and pastels are in! Wear bright colored shirts that have a soft tone. The best colors to wear are pastel colors. These colors are bright but still have a soft tone to them. A good combination to use would be to wear bright colored shirts as the main base to your outfit, then add a little bit of darker colors to your outfit here and there. For example wearing a blue pastel shirt with some dark brown jewelry, or yellow pastel shirt with a dark green tank top underneath that shows a little bit of the color. Wearing blouses in the springtime is also a plus; it gives you that playful feel which works well in the spring. Make sure to mix the colors, picking shades that work well together, other wise it could lead to a big wardrobe disaster. Tips for Wearing Sandals Another great plus during the warmer weather is the ability to wear sandals. Bright colors on toenails do not quite fit in with the spring season. So save those bright color nail polish for the summer time. During the springtime wear neutral deep colors that will give a nice finish. For example nice plum color or forest green or deep blue will work. Colors like these will give a good balance to the rest of your spring outfit. Knowing Your Seasons When looking in the closet to select your wardrobe, ask yourself, "Does this work for the feel of spring?" Get into the habit of knowing what will work and what does not work for different seasons of the year. Every season you can look fantastic and chic! Start now to get in the rhythm of knowing what to wear each season. declare your summer independence from blow dryers, straighteners, and curling irons today. It's difficult to maintain heat-it-to-achieve-it styles in the summer. The sun is scorching hot and washing your hair becomes more frequent. Thermal styling tools can give you an instant look, but constant heat styling can thin and damage natural, color- and chemically-treated hair.  Let your hair cool off by trying alternative no- to- low heat methods for volume, texture, or sleekness. .Flip your hair upside down using a paddle brush, smoothing the back of your hair from the nape to the front (Optional: For extra hold, lightly spritz your hair with alcohol-free hairspray) When you use your heat styling tools less, your strands get a chance to breathe. Challenge yourself to give up heat for two weeks and evaluate your hair.  If it hasn't been severely damaged by heat, you may notice that your hair looks and feels healthier and stronger. Each low-to-no heat method requires less stress on your hair and an overall healthy approach to your styling routine. Spend the rest of summer working on your tan, and not your hair. Eliminate Puffy Eyes Before you wash your face in the mornings, use a cue tip to lightly dab a very small amount of aloe vera gel (revered for its healing, anti-inflammatory, and cooling properties) over your eyes. Leave the gel on your eyes for five to ten minutes and then wash your face with your regular cleanser. You will you feel instantly refreshed and your eyes will look brighter and more youthful. The late-night puffiness around your eyes will begin to disappear. Good morning, Sunshine! Banish Rough Skin To remedy dry and cracked skin, formulate your own brown sugar scrub body treatment. The natural glycolic acid found in sugar works to gently slough off dead skin cells to reveal brighter skin. massage your sugar scrub to dampened skin. To lock in moisture, towel-pat dry and apply your lotion while your skin is slightly damp. Save your skin from damaging sun rays with a generous amount of sunscreen. Nothing can wreak havoc on your skin like sun damage. a sunscreen with SPF 15 may allow you to stay in the sun for 150 minutes without getting burned. However, even if you use sunscreen, try to chill in the shade for most of the day and feel fabulous in a big floppy hat for maximum skin protection. Your hair may be fighting the common hair cold right now- dryness, breakage, and dullness- due to the harsh weather. balance of protein and moisture in your hair. When the moisture and protein levels in your hair are in sync, you will notice less breakage, length retention, and an overall increase in the health of your hair. If your hair is hard, rough, or brittle you may need a deep conditioning treatment. This will help you restore softness to your hair and smooth your cuticle, the outermost layer of your hair strand.  When applying a deep conditioning treatment, try to use a conditioner that is water-based and contains at least one humectant.  Any product that lists humectants- propylene glycol, honey, glycerin- and water at the top of their ingredient list will work best to help your hair stay soft and moisturized. No More Weather Hair Worries When rain arrives unexpectedly, you aren't running to find shelter or making a make-shift umbrella out of a newspaper or your purse. You can play in the rain without worrying about you kinky hair getting ruined. Even in humidity, you can tie your hair back and let the humidity amplify your curls and get unbelievable volume. Curly girls who don't enjoy frizz or undefined curls can still leave the house and venture into high-humidity weather. Just be sure to apply a silicone-free styling serum on dry hair to keep your curls in sync. Your Facial Features Pop Some women with more traditional African features -full lips, broad nose, and high cheekbones- can appear more youthful with curly hair than straight hair. Flat hair can make these facial features seem larger than they actually are, and hide its true beauty. Shorter, tightly curled hair seems to defy gravity when worn out in an Afro style. It "lifts" the face and draws more attention to the eyes and cheekbones. You Become Healthier many times have you heard, "I know I need to go to the gym, but I don't want to mess up my hair"? When you wear your hair curly, you don't have to make the choice of having either a great head of hair or a great body. Let's be honest, your hair needs more than the perfect shampoo and conditioner. To give you hair optimum health, you have to eat right and exercise. When you have naturally curly hair, you no longer worry about your hair "reverting" when you sweat from a work-out. To freshen your curls after the gym, you can water-rinse or cleanse you hair with a sulfate-free shampoo. You Can Experiment with Color When you let your natural tresses roam free and treat it with care, you can experiment with more color without worrying about double-processing your hair with chemicals or daily doses of heat. If you apply heat on a daily basis or wear a relaxer, adding another hair-altering chemical like color to the mix can be a recipe for dryness and breakage. Even with chemical-free hair, color can still be damaging.  Look for alternative and gentler coloring options like Henna or semi-permanent glosses. Maintain a healthier head of hair with color by putting the relaxer away, and treating your hair with nourishing products formulated for color-treated hair.Running to the salon every few weeks to tame those "unruly roots" is no longer your concern. Salon chemical and hair straightening services can cost upwards of fifty dollars per visit. Now that you've embraced the beauty of your bouncy ringlets, your wallet is packed with extra cash. Indulge your hair with at-home nourishing treatments using deep conditioners and essential oils. The next time you see a woman with an eye-catching hair style or lustrous curls, give her a compliment. Whether you have a spouse to give you roses or not, give yourself a love letter this month that highlights every feature you love to play up, make your hair one of your favorite features. Whether your hair is short or long, curly or straight, it is beautiful and deserves to feel loved. The New Year is your time to shine. Your hair should be no exception. If you need more products just to fake a healthy appearance from split ends, dullness, or limp hair, January may be the perfect time to start over.  A healthy hair goal can be achieved if you start with the right plan.  Trim Your Ends Get rid of split, frayed, and heat-damaged ends with a professional trim. Your hair cannot look its best when damaged ends are getting all of the attention.  A trim can be anywhere from one-fourth of an inch to two inches, depending on the amount of damage. If you are apprehensive about getting a trim, you can do minimal shaping each month. However, eventually all the damaged ends will need to be cut off. Once damaged ends are removed, your hair will instantly look fuller, smoother, and healthier. Categorize your products (shampoos, conditioners, styling crème, etc.) and select one from each that works the best for your hair. The products that you do not select can be given away to friends, thrown out, or saved for the summer time. With a simple selection of tried and true products, your hair can be pampered and nourished with the correct products that work best on your hair. Commit to a Hair Care Schedule Consistently bathe your hair in deep conditioning, hot oil, and protein treatments. Your hair type and needs will determine how often you should do each treatment. There should be a healthy balance of protein and moisture to promote softer and stronger strands. Have a trusted stylist evaluate your hair. He or she will be able to help you commit to a healthy hair care schedule and help decide what healthy hair practices would work best for you.Handle Hair with Care Now that you are fully invested into your customized healthy hair journey, be gentle to your strands. Avoid styles that pull at the scalp and edges of your hair. The corners of your eyes should not meet at your scalp line. Instead, style your hair into loose, chic ponytails and buns. Keep hair manipulation low, only using proper combs and brushes sparingly and gently to detangle and style hair. Always moisturize and protect the ends of your hair to minimize split ends.  Treat your hair with care, and it will flourish throughout the New Year. Curly hair has been called many names: beautiful, unique, unkempt, trendy, unprofessional, rebellious, romantic, lustrous, and the list goes on. Within the past five years, major hair companies have realized that curly hair is also very "marketable". When you listen to your hair and notice what it likes, your curly hair can become synonymous with another word - healthy. You are mingling at a party and in walks a bombshell in a fitted jacket, the best pair of skinny jeans you have seen, a head full of luscious curls, and a confident laugh that fills the room.  You immediately envy the stillettoed goddess.  improve your look and overall confidence.  With minor changes and implementing the following "secrets" you will have the tools to always feel confident and look and your best. Wear Your Favorite Outfit When you like what you are wearing your confidence level rises.  However, there are a few fashion tips you want to keep in mind.  Tailored waistlines on dresses or jackets create slimming effects and pencil skirts hide upper leg blemishes and highlight calves.  Black is always slimming but spice it up with red accents (scarf, shoes, jewelry).  Highlight your best feature to feel extra sexy. Hair Is Important Many women overlook the importance of a well coiffed do.  This year, to the benefit of all women, volume and curls are in.  Try using hot rollers because they are easy to use, quick, and will not damage your hair.  They create a loose curl that softens any look.  Leave your hair down.  If this drives you crazy, use a decorative clip to sweep up a side.  If you don't have rollers, use a curling iron to add volume and curls to your tresses. The Arsenal Of Beauty Secrets These are wonderful beauty weapons used by many Hollywood stars. Most women are so good at these "tricks" that the result appears to be natural. Non Make-up Wearers You are blessed to have a fresh clean look naturally.  For a special event, it is nice to wear a minimal amount of make-up for a more formal look.  If you don't wear make-up, mascara and lip-gloss will enhance your look.  Fake Eyelashes Fake eyelashes are a great way to widen the eye and create a come-hither look.  The packs with sections or individual lashes rather than the full strip are easier to apply and look more natural.  Apply them to the outer corner of your eye following the natural lash line.  It will add a little length and enhance the look of the eye. Curly hair is a commitment, a long-term relationship. It is more prone to splitting up, as in split ends. It is constantly changing its mood, one day it's a poof, then it's a tangled nightmare. Style & Class Let's face it baggy jeans, baggy t-shirts, and over-sized flannels are not stylish. Anything that may fall into that category needs to be removed from your closet now! Also remove anything that is too tight. Clothes that are too tight are never in style however, don't confuse fitted with too tight. Confidence is Fashion There is nothing more sexy to a man than a woman that walks into the room with confidence. Make sure that whatever it is your wearing you feel great in it. Whether you are running errands or going out you should always feel confident in what you are wearing. The 4 Must-Haves A fitted jacket is essential this fall. The Young Shall Grow

"The test of the morality of a society is what it does for its children".  Dietrich Bonhoeffer

The children and youth are the future generation of a society.  Any society that neglects its youth is doomed to calamity. Much attention should be given to the youth in our society. It is the duty of parents to provide and care for their children from birth to adolescence. Of what use is a parent who made the decision to have a child and neglect to care for the child? Every child born into this world deserves the nurture, care and love of the parents. In some circumstances, children are born to parents who due to circumstances beyond their control are not able to care and provide for them. Such excusable situations are unforeseen, ill health and/or death. These circumstances are understandable because there is little or nothing one can do to control them. Parents who divert their attention from their children's wellbeing in pursuit of their own fantasies are guilty of child abuse and neglect. Fantasies such as, gambling, alcohol, illegal drugs, and other illegal actions distort the mind and render the addicted individual useless and destructive to self, to society, and to their children. These fantasies are not unforeseen. People clearly make decisions to indulge into these life styles.

Every individual in their right mind that walks the earth has the power of free agency to choose right from wrong, and to make decisions. Within every person, there is a light of the knowledge of good and evil. Any parent that becomes addicted to alcohol, illicit drugs, gambling, or other illegal actions decisively opted to follow that route. This option usually results to negligence, abuse and maltreatment of the children.  The children also are very much affected by these addictive behaviors of the parents. Children look up to their parents as exemplary figures to emulate. When parents exhibit before the children behaviors and characteristics of irresponsibility and immorality, the children, being innocent and new to the world embrace what is presented to them as normal. Some children are forced by their parents to adopt and accept their addictive behaviors. Simple advice to such negligent and abusive parents: If you can't provide, raise and love a child, don't have a child.  If you do, you only bring the child into the world to punish him/her. No child deserves to be punished for being born into the world.

Children suffer the consequences of their neglecting parents' actions. Their parents' addictive actions not only affect them physically, they are also mentally affected. It affects their education and social lives. They fall short and don't perform well in their school work. They lack confidence and have low self-esteem. With no confidence and low self-esteem they have very little self-worth. When a child finds themself in such a situation where they feel that they are not loved and nobody cares, and that life worth nothing, they resorts to acting out and doing things that actually display their thoughts of themself. As these children grow and become teenagers, they begin to look at life from the same perspective as their parents did. They start to live their lives following the same pattern their parents followed because that is the life they have known since their childhood. Some of them drop out of school. They start stealing to get money for alcohol, illicit drugs, gambling and even prostitution.

It is the duty and responsibility of parents and guardians to make decisions for children until they are of adolescence age when they are in the position to make their own decisions. When parents fail to perform their duties, then and only then do the children look outside of the home to get whatever they can get from whoever comes their way, and offers them recognition that makes them feel accepted and loved.
Some of these youth fall into traps that cause them to spend their young lives in prison. Some lucky ones find themselves in foster homes where they are cared for by trained professionals. The foster homes provide them with basic necessary needs to help them gain some of the home training they were not able to receive from their parents. The foster homes management invites the families and individuals to help provide help for the youths who reside in the homes. They make it possible for qualified families or individuals to adopt these youth and raise them in their private homes. This allows the youth to have the experience of family environment, feel and receive the nurture and love they need.

Essential Needs for Children & Youth
Self-Esteem & Confidence - These children and youth need to be empowered to have confidence in themselves. They need to know that they are special and can achieve any goal they set for themselves with the help of people around them who are there to support them.  Having no parent who encouraged and instilled self-worth in them left them bankrupt of confidence. They lack the zeal to seek, pursue and achieve any goal in their lives. Their self-esteem needs bolstering to help them develop self-worth, self-love and self-respect. This will help to heal their wounds.
Good Mannerism - Children and Youth are the future generations and leaders of a nation. They need to be nurtured in the culture and fashioned to be good citizens of the country. They need to be taught to behave in ways that is respectable and acceptable in the society especially, respect for the elders, for themselves and for people in general. Exceptional manners will help the youth build better relationships with people.
Education - No child should be left behind.  Education is a key to success to the growth of a nation.  A nation whose youth are illiterate will not progress. It is expedient that every youth receive adequate education that will propel their lives to be able to feign for themselves, work and serve for the growth of the nation. They need encouragement and guidance to pursue education in any field of their interest, university, technical or vocational.

Integrity - "Integrity is doing the right thing, even if nobody is watching."  This virtue is very much needed to be instilled into the minds of today's youth.  The future is awaiting their arrival, as citizens and leaders of the universe.  Men and women of integrity are needed to make this world a better and peaceful place of abode. It is among them that these select men and women will be found.

Foster Homes
How do we make all these provisions available and within the reach of the youth/children who need them?
There are several foster homes in the area where you live. Search the internet or the phone book and contact them.  Find out the procedures for helping with the needs of the children in the home. There are different ways to help. Every foster home have needs because they have children in need. No help is too little or too much. You can bless the lives of these youth/children with any talent you have. If you are blessed with the talent to reach people through speaking, use it.  Reach out and touch them with encouraging words bringing into focus the sub-titles mentioned above. You can do this through organized seminar or workshop designed just for the youth. You can teach them to learn to do art work, painting, sculptor, hair braiding, crocheting, knitting, nail sculptor, and hair dressing. Share your skills with them. Teach them to read. Teach them to learn word processing using the computer, browse the internet (positive browsing).

Money - Donate money to the Foster Home. You can sponsor a child or group of children to participate in a special school event.

School Supplies - Donate books, pens, pencils, erasers, notebooks, rulers, school uniforms, and book bags.

Clothes - Youth/Children need clothes, shoes, and accessories. Please give clothes and shoes that are in good order.

Food - Donate food.  This is an essential aspect of donation. These are growing children. They need to be fed healthy food in order to grow and be strong. "The Young Shall Grow" Brighten their homes by donating bright and meaningful paintings to hand on the walls.

Add a little sunshine to these children/youth's lives. Celebrate their birthdays.  If celebrating their birthdays individually is a little much for you, you can arrange with the management to celebrate one big birthday for all the children/youth in the home.

More importantly, these children/youth need homes where they can experience family life, feel the nurtured, and loved.  If you find it in your heart and your budget is strong and flexible enough to adopt one or two of the children/youth,  that will be a blessing and dream come true for those children/youth. Their lives will change for good. They will be a blessing in your life.  You will be a source of strength and courage to them.
Don't postpone this act of charity. Charity is the love of God in action. Act now before it is too late.  Follow the promptings of the spirit and trust your instincts. Give and you will be given.  Bless and you will be blessed. Help the children and the youth to grow. With your help and support, the young shall grow.

Reaching Out To The Sick In The Hospital
By: Anastasia Nosiri

"I expect to pass through life but once.  If therefore, there be any kindness I can show, or any good thing I can do to any fellow being, let me do it now, and not defer or neglect it, as I shall not pass this way again".  ~
William Penn

Being healthy is most often taken for granted. No one wants to be sick and or even think of falling sick.  When we are in good health, rarely do we think that we could fall sick. There are people who do everything possible in their power to keep healthy. They exercise their bodies every day, eat nutritious healthy food, and stay away from anything that would cause them to be sick.  Most of the people described above stay strong and healthy at most, while others don't. Those who don't find themselves sick at one time or another.  Some sicknesses are caused by germs, while other sicknesses or diseases are genetically inherited. The genetically inherited diseases are not caused by lack of nutritious and healthy eating or exercise. Some non-genetic sicknesses originate from the braking down or malfunction of any of the body organs. In a nutshell, sickness or illness is an uninvited guest that visits its victim unannounced.  No one wakes up one morning announcing their plan to be sick. In order to combat this uninvited guest, mankind in his wisdom organized and implemented Health Insurance, hospitals, hospices, and health centers where the sick is treated and cared for.

There are several ways to volunteer and serve those in the hospital. Visiting the patients and chatting with them gives them the hope and a new outlook on their condition. The Recovery room is one of the areas in the hospital that needs volunteers. Waiting in the recovery room after surgery, when the patient is kept in a room to recover, a smiling face and calming voice will bring joy to the heart of the patient, a feeling of gratitude and assurance that they are not alone. Greeting visitors with a smile as they visit their loved ones and friends lying sick in the hospital, helps ease the pain and anxiety that prowl within their hearts.  Volunteer to work with special groups such as Hospice or Oncology. These special groups require more exceptional and detailed services. Due to the exceptional nature of these special groups, volunteers will need to be trained on how to provide the needed services. Volunteers can help with transporting patients from the hospital to their homes on their discharge dates and wheeling patients to and from treatment departments.

One of the fun places to volunteer in the hospital is the Children's department. Cuddling babies and rocking them to sleep can never be more fun than when you volunteer in the hospital. There are babies in the hospital who have no mothers or family to cuddle them and ease their pain. There is nothing like giving too much love to a baby. Babies just need much love and the hospital is one place to give such love. Children like to play with toys. Take children and watch them play in the play room. Children love listening to stories.  Storytelling and reading will capture the children's attention and they will always look forward to more stories from their favorite volunteer.

The hospital library is a valuable section in the hospital where volunteers are needed. Arrange and shelve books and magazines and help the patients select books or magazines of interest to read. Volunteers can also read to the patients and talk about what they read. Much help is needed in the laundry where volunteers can help with the washing, drying, and folding hospital bed sheets, blankets and pillow cases, and towel.  Volunteer to work in the cafeteria. Clean, arrange, prepare and serve food to patients and visitors.  Volunteers can also work at the Hospital Gift Shop. If you have the creative gift of crafting such as knitting, stitching and crocheting, you will have great fun volunteering at the hospital.  Hand crafted creations such as socks, hats, shawls, pillow cases, and blankets are welcomed and appreciated by hospitals. Your volunteering in the hospital will also be appreciated if you are talented in creating art works such as paintings. Donating art works is a beautiful way of volunteering in the hospital. The beauty of art work and paintings has some special healing element that brings smiles and appreciation on the faces of patients.  Money and book donations are also additional ways to volunteer in the hospital.

Rules and Regulations
There are rules and regulations stipulate by hospitals for volunteers to follow when they give their compassionate service to the hospitals. A volunteer cannot just walk into a hospital, sign-up and start work the same day. Every hospital has their procedures that govern their volunteer service program. Among the reasons hospitals don't allow volunteers to just walk in and start work is their concern for the health and safety of their patients. Hospitals require that their volunteers are screened to ensure that they are in good health. The purpose of the screening is to safeguard against the patients contracting or being infected with any other disease in addition to what they already have. They are screened and tested for diseases such as measles, tuberculosis, chicken pox, and use of illegal drugs. It is also necessary for the hospitals to ensure that volunteers are of sound mind to be allowed to work around the patients. Some hospitals require volunteers to fill out an application form after which they are interviewed by a volunteer service official.  Volunteers are typically required to attend the volunteer orientation seminar.

As with any new job, training is needed and provided to the new hire. For the new volunteers to be able to perform their new duties well, it is expedient that they are trained in the areas they wish to serve. Each individual hospital has their protocol and procedures of training new volunteers. While the new volunteer will be trained on the specifics of the volunteer duties, training is also provided in the following areas: dress code, wheel chair safety, patient confidentiality, standard hygiene practice, fire safety, cell phone usage, body mechanics, time keeping and absences. Depending on the service interest of the volunteer, the training could be a one-time seminar on the specific duties for a couple of hours, weekly, monthly, additional or ongoing training throughout the whole period volunteering in the hospital. Once the training is completed, the new volunteer is prepared to provide compassionate service in the hospital.

The new volunteer spoken of in this article is you. If you have never given a compassionate service before, or you think you don't have time to give any volunteer service, think again. You will have the time if you really want to volunteer. You will make the time if you are willing and ready. Just as you make time to accomplish other goals in your life, you can do it.  You compassion and service is very much needed. Your balmy smile, presence, creative skills, and donation are greatly needed to bring hope and smiles to the faces of those bedridden in the hospital. Do not be afraid to volunteer in the hospital. The hospital is not an awful place.  It is a place of healing and giving care. Do not procrastinate any longer. Now is the time to serve.  Now is the time to show that you care.

Your volunteer service will not go unnoticed. You will be greatly rewarded. The smiles on the faces of the patients in the hospital will give you joy and the feeling of fulfillment. Through your volunteering you have reached out and touched lives. You have given hope, encouragement and support to those in need. You will know that your service is worthwhile. Hospitals recognize volunteers who have served selflessly in annual volunteer recognition events. If you are pursuing a career in the medical profession, volunteering in the hospital will serve as a springboard to launch you to the right path. Rewards such as free parking, free health screenings, and the skill trainings you receive during your orientation and volunteer position are some of the benefits you receive by giving and volunteering in the hospital.

Contact your local hospitals today. Go to the websites and check out the volunteer section to find out the requirements and procedures for volunteering in the hospitals. Some hospitals have online registration for volunteer work. You can also call the hospital directly on the phone to speak with the volunteer coordinator about volunteer or group compassionate project. Invite your friends to join your good cause to serve others.

Feeding The Homeless
By: Anastasia Nosiri

. "If you offer your food to the hungry and satisfy the needs of the afflicted, then your light shall rise in the darkness and your gloom be like the noonday." ~
Isaiah 58:10

Every child growing up has dreams of having a place of their own someday when they grow up. Some dream of building a mansion beautifully decorated and with all the luxuries life can offer. Everyone wants the privacy of living in their own homes where they can live and do whatever they like whenever they want to, at any time of their choice. A home is a place where one can relax and feel comfortable. How disappointing and depressing it is when one of us finds himself/herself out in the open street of life with no place to call home, no place to lay our head, no shelter or food to sustain our body. Homelessness is not a thing of beauty or joy. It is never a place anyone wants to be.

Homelessness not only deprives one of the physical needs, it saps away spiritual energy, weakens the spirit, destroys self-esteem, and one's dignity. It is interesting to watch people rushing to get to their homes after a day's work. They are hurrying to get home because they know the comfort and peace of mind it gives to know that you have a roof over your head. There is also the freedom to choose the meal to prepare, cook and eat at the leisure of their home. Some people plan to invite their friends to their homes for dinner. They anticipate the fun and joy of being surrounded by friends and family. For the homeless, such a plan is far-fetched and impossible. The homeless plan, if any, is to find a place, anywhere that would accept, accommodate and shelter against the elements such as rain, sun, wind and snow. Most homeless people sleep in the streets, parks and under bridges with little or no clothing on their backs.

Homelessness and hunger are close companions. Where there is homelessness, there is always hunger.  The homeless are usually jobless, with no money, no house, no food, and sometimes with no friends or family. People do not identify or acknowledge the homeless as related or friends to them. The homeless is easily denied, rejected, sneered at and ignored. The only assured thing a living homeless has is the free breath of life. Homelessness means unsanitary living. Most people stay away from the homeless when they see them in the streets. They have no place to take shower and keep themselves clean. For the homeless, there is no laundering or washing of their clothes. Not having a place to call home means to have no kitchen to prepare and cook food or meal. Homelessness means the lack of nutritious and healthy meal. It means not being able to afford to go to the grocery store and select food they like to eat

Have you seen a homeless person pick food from the trash can? How painful a sight it is. Have you picked food and ate from the dumpster? No one deserves to eat from the dumpster. Hunger is a major problem the homeless battles on a daily basis. Lack of nutritious and healthy eating results to the body not functioning properly. It can easily lead to weakness of the body and to sickness.

When was the last time you ate a nutritious and healthy food? Did it cross your mind that there are some homeless people who cannot afford to eat a nutritious meal? Did you think that you can do something to help them? We can help make life a little better for the homeless by feeding them.

There are meal centers in your communities where you can go and help prepare and serve meals to the homeless. Some shelters allow volunteers to cook and prepare meals or provide home-cooked meals to take to serve the homeless shelter residents. Serving and feeding the homeless brings smiles on their faces. When they see people they don't know take time out and leave their homes solely for the purpose to prepare, serve and feed them, they feel that they are still considered a part of the society and not just a  burden to the society. They feel loved.

Many homeless people are out in the street due to mental problems. They are hungry and need to be fed. Making sandwiches packed in small brown bags, serves as a good way of feeding the homeless. Get together with your friends or church members and do this service. Feeding such category of homeless people requires driving around the city to the nooks and corners, seeking them out in their various hidden and isolated locations. This involves seeking out those in need and filling their needs.

Think about all that you have today and how blessed you are, close your eye for one mintue and feel in your heart the hunger to feed the homeless. Search through the Internet for the homeless shelters and food pantries, or meal centers in your community. Contact them and find out their procedures for volunteering to feed the homeless. Feel good about the service you are about to embark on. The homeless are people like you and me. They had a home, source of income, friends and family. They are no different from us. The wave of life changed on them and twisted things around for them, and that is the reason they are where they are today. Every homeless person has a story behind his or her homeless life. Homelessness can happen to anyone, at any time. Remember that no one is an island. We all need each other.

A good goal to make is to plan to feed the homeless before the end of the year. Do not be afraid to serve. It is a service of love. It is a blessing to serve those in need. As you give this service, you will make new friends. Your new friends will put smiles on your face when they smile at you. Your eyes will shed tears of joy when they share their stories with you. These will be tears of joy because you will be glad you were able to reach out and touch their lives. Be a friend to those in need, for a friend in need is a friend indeed.

"Where there is love there is life."

Helping Women With Breast Cancer
By: Anastasia Nosiri

"When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they will not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; neither will the flame kindle upon you".
~ Isaiah 43:2

God provides angels to assist us when we are faced with problems.  We can serve God by being the angel that helps others who are in need. One of the best ways to answer the prayers of others is to serve them.   In order to be effective in your efforts to serve, you must learn to love and help those who are looking for support, a loving hand or just someone to assist them in their daily task. Helping women with breast cancer is a great way to give service.  Through several service efforts you can be the answer to their prayers.  Below are some ways to be an angel to someone who is going battling breast cancer.

When one is faced with any problem or trial of life, the first line of action is to pray. Prayer diffuses any fears, doubts and sustains hope. As you embark on the mission to help someone with breast cancer, start with prayer.  Ask that the Spirit of God guide you as you step out to help a cancer patient. Ask the patient if it is okay to pray. If yes, ask if she could give the prayer. You can offer the prayer if the patient could not do it. It is important to ask the patient if she would like to have a prayer with you because some people have resentment and get angered due to their ailment.  If the patient turns down to pray totally, do not fret about it. Remember, you have already prayed in your home before you stepped out to give the service.

Be Attentive
Every woman suffering from Breast cancer has many thoughts rummaging in her mind. These thoughts she would want to share with people close to her. Some women are afraid to share such thoughts with close family members because they don't want their family members to worry about losing them to the cancer.  You have to prepare your mind to listen to their thoughts, concerns, and needs.  You might be the person they will confide in depending on how you approach and talk with them. Do more listening than talking.  Speak only when she invites you to speak. Do not feel sorry for her. Talk to her as you would with any other person. Although she is sick with cancer, she still has her dignity and respect intact.  Her being sick does not in any way diminish who she is. She is a woman, a human being, a special child of God. Be positive in your talks with her. Do not lug down her spirit with negativity, instead give her positive reinforcement.
As you relate to this special woman, always remember that she is still a valuable citizen. She wants to still be part of life as long as she is still breathing the air of life. She wants to know events and what is happening around her, in the community, in the country and around the world.  If she has the strength to read, provide her with newspapers and magazines she likes to read. If she likes watching television, you can watch and listen to the news on the television with her. If she can't read, share the news with her. You can read books and novels that tell stories of faith, courage, strength, and hope to her. Reading her mail to her is also very helpful.

Doctor's Appointments
It is very necessary that she keeps her Doctor's appointments. Some cancer patients appreciate it when they are accompanied by someone to their doctor's appointment. They need someone there with them when the doctor tells them the stage and state of their illness. Because of their condition, they may not fully understand what the doctor said to them, remember the dates for their next appointment, when or where to get the prescribed medication. Picking up prescription drugs for her is also part of this necessary service.

Clothing & Makeup
Women with Breast cancer are concerned with their looks due to the changes that occur to their bodies.  Ask if she likes to wear makeup. Find out the brands she likes and volunteer to purchase them for her. If she has some in the house, let her know you can help her with her makeup. Losing weight occurs during Chemotherapy. You can offer to help her with changing her wardrobe. If you know how to sew, you can redesign her clothes especially the ones she wears outside the house to fit her current size. If she prefers to wear a wig, help her find one that fits. As you help her with her clothing and makeup, ensure that you tell her that she is special and beautiful.

Grocery Shopping/Food Preparation
Find out from her the type of food she eats as related to her health. You can accompany her to the grocery store if she is up to doing that. Otherwise, write down all that she needs, and do the shopping for her. Prepare the food for her according to how she wants it. Some women have their own recipes. When you serve the food to her, be mindful that she might invite you to eat with her. There is nothing wrong if you turn down the invitation. But be sure to do it in a nice way with a smile.

Watching a good movie or television show will help alleviate or distract the cancer patient's attention from her pain. Spend time and watch good comedy movies with her. You can entertain her with your talents. If you are a talented singer or dancer, you can sing or dance to entertain her if she approves. Invite her to dance if she is in the mood to do so. If she lives by herself, ask if she has family members or children, and ask if you could see photos of them. Tell her how blessed she is to have them. If she does not have any family, take your own photos and share with her. She will appreciate that you really care about her to share your family photos with her.

Babysitting/Children & School
You can help a cancer patient by taking care of her child or children while she keeps her doctor's appointment. Weakness of the body after Chemotherapy is common for most cancer patients.   Driving the children to and from school is also a great way of easing her load. You can also help the children with their school home work, and taking them to sports and dance activities.

House Chores
Volunteer to clean the house. Vacuum when needed and wash and clean dishes. If there is a pet in the house remember to feed it too. The lawn needs also to be included in the list of chores that needs to be done.

Thanksgiving - A Virtue
By: Anastasia Nosiri

Thanksgiving Day is a day selected for family and friends to gather together in celebration with festivities, feasting and rejoicing in thankfulness for good fortunes and blessings. Thanksgiving for should be everyday of our lives. Everyday we wake up breathing the free breath of life should be a day of giving thanks to the one and only God of the universe who created and placed mankind on this earth.

This vast universe was designed and shaped by the omnipotent, omniscient and sovereign being - God. As part of his creation, he fashioned us special as humans and blessed us with high intellect, acumen, knowledge, and comprehension more than His other creations. He created and breathed in us the free breath of life and air that we breathe that freely caresses our bodies. He gave us the sun that provides us with light in the day and brightly shines on us providing the heat of His love that freely warms our fragile frames. He blessed us with the light from the moon that gently shines at night portraying the soft and gentle nature of His love for us. The sun and the moon are just two of the billions of stars he created. He blessed us with the trees and plants that provide us with food, shades, lumber, and the oxygen we breathe. He blessed us with the rain, rivers, and seas that waters the ground for the trees and plants and quenches our thirst. We made no contribution in any way or form towards his wonderful handiwork yet, he placed us here in His beautiful earth to live life abundantly and enjoy the fruits of his handiwork.

The opportunity to live and experience life here on earth is a wonderful blessing that every human being who walked the earth should be thankful for, regardless of how the life was lived or how it ended. We should be thankful for the blessing of meeting, knowing and fellowshipping with other children of the creator with whom we forge different relationships - family members, friends and colleagues. Mankind is abundantly endowed and gifted with great talents. With these God-given talents and gifts, mankind has contributed to the beautification of the world through technology. For these we must be thankful as we celebrate with family and friends on "Thanksgiving Day", feasting and rejoicing for all the good fortunes.

We should give thanks unceasingly; not just for the good fortunes, we should be thankful for good times and bad times; thankful for successes and failures; thankful for fortunes and misfortunes; thankful for sickness and health; Bad times, failures, misfortunes, sickness, natural disasters, and death teach us humility, call our attention to reality and remind us clearly that we have no control of our lives or the turn of events as they happen in this vast universe.

Everyone on the face of the earth is blessed with one gift, talent or another. Even the blind, the lame the dumb, the cripple, the handicap is blessed with one talent or another.

Some are blessed with money, food, clothing, knowledge, skill. Give thanks by blessing those around you with your special gift, talent or blessings. Use your knowledge to inspire those who need encouragement. Feed the hungry and donate clothing to those in need. Give freely to homeless shelters and charitable organizations. Use your beautiful voice to sing praises to God in uplifting the spirits of the depressed. Move your body gracefully in dancing to bring joy to the hearts of the despondent. Smile kindly to cheer the distressed. Teach, encourage, uplift, inspire, comfort and sustain one another in thanksgiving.

"Let us remember that, as much has been given us, much will be expected from us, and that true homage comes from the heart as well as from the lips, and shows itself in deeds." Theodore Roosevelt

Are We Not All Homeless?
By: Anastasia Nosiri

"He has given a home to the homeless; He has given honor to the dishonored. He has fulfilled all desires; remember Him in meditation, day and night, with every breath and every morsel of food."   -  Sri Guru Granth Sahib

Are we not all homeless?  We are all wanderers wandering in the wilderness seeking for a place of abode to call home.  Out here in the world is very lonely, and not until we find our homes will we become restful and at peace.

True Service
True service to the homeless is stepping out of our comfort zone, stepping up, seeking and finding and meeting the unmet needs of those who for one reason or another found themselves lacking a place of abode. It is when you are ready to quit criticizing, judging and condemning those who are less fortunate than us, only then are you really ready to serve.

When helping the homeless always remember, "Verily I say unto you, inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me" (Matt. 25:40). When you are in the service of your fellow men, you are serving God.
It does not require a high IQ to detect a homeless person. The homeless are found in the community parks, in the streets, under bridges, in the suburbs, and in the cities. They live in open industrial lands, in tents, and the woods. They are also found in homeless shelters.

Being homeless is like being lost. Homelessness occurs due to the loss of one's home or property, job loss, family malfunction, divorce, and natural disasters. At the initial stage of homelessness, most of the homeless carry some of their belongings around with them wherever they wander to.  Being faced with the pain of not having a place to stay, they are also faced with the burden and pain of losing all the belongings they have accumulated over the years. With the concern and fear of losing their belongings, they take along with them their most valued properties. Initially, in some cases, they are in denial about their homeless condition, hoping and thinking that in a very short time, they will move back into a house or an apartment, and everything will go back to normal. In the process of hauling around their belongings, they also face the danger of being a target for robbery. Some of them actually get attacked and robbed of their belongings.   At some point, when the struggle to survive becomes too difficult, their belongings eventually become a big burden that they get tired and end up just taking a few of the most important belongings leaving the rest behind. They no longer have much value for their belongings. Their focus at this stage is to seek for help to sustain their lives.

A homeless person initially thinks and hopes that the situation will be short-lived and that within a couple of weeks or months situation will change and go back to normal. But as the situation continues to linger on and nothing is changing, anxiety sets in dragging along with it despair, hopelessness and low self-esteem.  Despair, hopelessness and low self-esteem - these threesome are the breeding grounds for negative thoughts. The homeless at this stage begins to think negative thoughts about the situation, thoughts of things to do to find money and food to sustain life. In order to survive the situation, some of the homeless would turn to stealing. They get into the habit of substance abuse and illegal drugs. They sell drugs to make money and/or smoke drugs to numb their feelings of hopelessness. Although some homeless have jobs, yet they resort to substance abuse as a way of escape and denial of their situation.

Hope is the anticipation that things will get better in the future. Where there is life, there is hope. Hope begets faith. When hope is lost there is nothing else to look forward to.

Homelessness has a very strong and negative impact on the mind and behavior of the homeless. It causes the trend of thought and behavior of the homeless to change from normal to abnormal. Some develop schizophrenic behaviors which results to mental sickness. The feeling of worthlessness, depression, not valued by others, neglect, not loved, abuse, anger and depression sets in accompanied by the feeling of bitterness, hatred for one-self and the society.

These feelings are some of the reasons some homeless refuse to accept help when offered.  They feel that they are being laughed at. It takes a lot of courage to be out in the street begging and asking people you don't know for alms. Some homeless people don't like to beg or ask for help because of the shame and it is even more shameful when they are turned down.

The following are the different ways to volunteer to help the homeless: food preparation, clothing donation, landscaping, painting, pictures, paintings and posters donation, reading, singer/dancer, workshops, and seminars.

Food Preparation
There are meal and kitchen centers where meals are prepared and served to the homeless in your neighborhood. Find out what days of the week and time you can volunteer to prepare and serve.  There is always a need of volunteers in these meal centers. These kitchen/meal centers have regulations and policies that you need to observe to be able to prepare and serve meals.  Some homeless shelters require that volunteers prepare and cook the meals in their homes and deliver and serve the shelter residents.  The volunteer is responsible to provide all that is needed to cook and serve.

Clothing Donation
Clothing is a very much needed item you can provide the homeless. It is not good or genuine service to donate ripped, worn out or dirty clothes to the homeless. You can buy and donate new clothes if you can afford to do so. Clean used clothes that are in useable conditions are also acceptable.  This can be a group service. You can invite your friends to contribute clothes they have outgrown or don't need anymore. Sometimes people have a lot of belongings they don't use anymore but haven't thought about using them to bless the lives of others who are in need. When you involve your friends, your good service reaches out to touch many more peoples' lives. You can deliver the clothes to the shelter yourself or call the shelter officials to pick up the clothes.

Another great way to help the homeless is helping to keep the shelter surroundings and grounds clean.  You can volunteer to cut the grass, wreck leaves, sweep, and plants flowers to make the shelter surroundings look nice and appealing to the residents.

Staying in the shelter automatically makes the shelter home for the homeless. Life is not always dim regardless of one's situation. There is always hope and a light at the end of the tunnel. Give hope and make this light shine in the lives of the shelter residents by volunteering to paint the shelter rooms. You do not have to be a professional painter to volunteer to paint the walls and rooms in the shelter. Living in a shelter is rough and tough enough. To stay in a shelter where the walls and rooms look dingy and dull adds to the feeling of rejection and hopelessness. Brightly painted walls and rooms will help brighten and uplift the residents' spirits.

Pictures & Paintings Posters Donation
Inspiring and uplifting paintings, pictures and posters can be donated to hang on the walls in the shelter rooms. You can make posters with inspiring words of encouragement written on them and donate to the shelter. Such items will undoubtedly help inspire and change the outlook on life of the shelter residents.

Reading is very essential for everyone including the homeless. Some of the homeless do not know how to read and need someone to teach them how to read. You can volunteer to teach the homeless how to read.

Are you gifted with the artistic flare of dancing or singing? Music speaks one universal language. It vibrates the soul of everyone within the circumference of its sound. The sound of your voice and graceful movements of your body will inspire and uplift the homeless spirits, empowering them to realize that they are a part of the bigger picture, and that they are not alone in the race of life.

Workshop & Crafts
If you are blessed with the skill of making crafts, you can use such gift to bless the lives of the homeless.  Skills and crafts such as knitting, crocheting, sewing, basket weaving, sculpturing, carpentering, picture framing, greeting cards are some of the skills and crafts we can take to the homeless shelter to help the shelter residents.

If you are blessed and gifted with the ability to use words to motivate and inspire people, use your God given gift to inspire and encourage the homeless. Give them hope and uplift them in their time of need.  Speak hope and courage to them. Speak kindness, patience, and love to them in the language they will understand.

The above mentioned are some of the ways the homeless can be helped. There are many other ways to help the homeless. Browse the Internet, check the yellow pages, seek out homeless shelters. There are shelters for men, women, and teenagers. Speak to the managers and find out their policies and procedures of volunteering in the shelters. Get out of your comfort zone, step out and step up. Make a difference in someone's life. Be an influence to someone. Look under the bridges, in the streets, by libraries, around shopping centers, in the woods, and at train stations. Seek out the homeless. Volunteer and help meet their needs. Every homeless person needs to be loved. They too want to be listened to, recognized, accepted, appreciated, and loved. They too came from the same source - the one God as every other person who is not homeless. They are our brothers and sisters and need to be treated that way.
"…the foxes have holes, and the birds of the air have nests, but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head" (Matt. 8:19-22).  Are you greater than the son of God, Jesus the Christ, the savior of mankind who had no place on this earth called home to lay his head?  If the son of God had no where to lay his head while he was on earth during his ministry, then homelessness can happen to anyone who had trod this earth.

Helping the Elderly
By: Anastasia Nosiri

There are several different ways to help the elderly. Statistics show that out of every eight people in the United States of America, one is over 68 years old. The number of senior citizens is increasing by leaps and bounds. This increase results from the medical innovation and advancement of the twentieth century. It is a blessing that this century's elderly are living longer lives. It is very important to see the blessing in the longevity. Among the blessings is that. the younger generation will have the elderly around them to guide and direct them from going the wrong directions.

Be A Friend
Many senior citizens live in their homes alone. Loneliness is one condition that can lead to depression. Living alone and having no one to talk to gives lonely people the feeling that they are not worthy of being loved. It makes them feel that they have nothing that would make anyone want to associate with them. Being in that situation saps their confidence and leaves them bankrupt of self-esteem. It makes them feel rejected, not wanted and not useful to the society and sometimes can lead to suicide attempt. Just being a friend to the elderly brings joy to their hearts. Visiting with the elderly helps build their confidence and self-esteem. They feel recognized and loved.

Music is food for the soul. Its language is universal. You can uplift someone's spirit and brighten their day with music. Playing musical instruments such the guitar, violin, or piano accompanied with a song for the enjoyment of the elderly. Singing acapella is a beautiful way to uplift the elderly. You can ask the elderly what their favorite songs are and sing along with them. You can search, find and play their favorite music of their youth on the Internet or purchase the CD. You can take the elderly to a concert or a musical production. Some senior citizens loved to dance and were very good dancers in their younger years. You can invite them to dance to the music of their likeness when you play it for them. They just need someone to recognize that they still can enjoy dancing even at their old age.

The elderly are fond of nature. You can take them to the Zoo to see the animals. Some elderly people have difficulty walking or standing. It will be wise to make available a wheel chair if you plan to take them to places that require walking and standing. Taking a short walk in the close by park is a good way of helping them exercise their body. They can feed the birds and smell the beautiful flowers during the summer seasons at the park.

Food Preparation
Some senior citizens long for home made meal. Cooking and serving the elderly is one way of showing that you really care about them. You can prepare the meal in your home and take it to them. If possible you can take the food items when you visit, prepare the meal in their home. You can have them do some of the little things like handing you the recipes as you prepare the meal. Conversing with them as you prepare the meal in their home gives them the feeling of homeliness and family. Join them and eat when you serve them. This really makes them feel your love and concern for them.

Providing transportation for the elderly is very necessary. They have needs to keep Doctor's appointments, pick up medications, do grocery shopping and other necessary chores. You can volunteer to provide transportation for the elderly who are still able to do these chores for themselves. For those who are not able to walk or stand, you can volunteer to do these chores for them.

Spiritual Uplifting
Inviting and taking the elderly to Church is a very special way of showing that you care about their spiritual growth and stability. Some elderly would let you know when they last attended a Church if you ask them. Knowing that they are inching one day at time towards their last days, the elderly appreciates hearing and listening to what happens to man's spirit when life ends here. Some of them want to know what amends to make to right the wrongs they have done in their lives before they die. Sitting in a church congregation with people of different ages and listening to uplifting spiritual words would strengthen and uplift their spirits and even elongate their lives.

Love for Children
It is amazing to know that the elderly loves seeing little children. They smile and talk to little children when they see them. Little children remind them that they too were that little before they matured, became adults and grew old. In their old age, the elderly sometimes revert to acting like little children. If you have little children, you can take them with you to visit the elderly. Some elderly revert to childish behaviors. They cannot make critical decisions by themselves anymore. They need someone to help remind them of things. They loose their trends of thoughts, forget easily, flutter in their speech, loose their balance, become frail, shrink, and even loose their sight.

Enriching the Mind
The elderly has no doubt accumulated great amount of knowledge of events as they occurred in their youthful years. They are in the most part human museums from which the younger generation can tap into and gain facts and information to enrich their own lives. Engaging the elderly in a conversation is an easy and effective way of extracting facts and wisdom from them. Most elderly like to tell stories of their live experiences. Spending time with them and listening to their life experiences is worth doing because you can learn to avoid the mistakes they made and implement some of their positive experiences to build and enhance your own life. They readily answer questions about their lives when asked. They also offer advice when sought from them. You can enrich their lives even in their old age by reading stories in the newspapers to them, or sharing with them the current local and world news.

Physical Appearance
Some elderly women loved to look decent in their physical appearance in their youthful years. Some in their old age are not able to do those little things that kept them looking beautiful and admired by others. You can help them put their make up on and dress them up for events, or even to stay home and look beautiful. It makes them feel good when you do things for them, and let them know that although they are old now, yet, they can still wear make up and look as beautiful.

You can give the above mentioned services to the senior citizens who live in their own private homes or to those who are in senior citizen's homes. The elderly care homes have procedures and some require training for anyone who wants to volunteer in the centers or homes. Before you go to volunteer in the elderly care homes and centers, it is important that you find out the procedures and policies for volunteering.

It is very important for everyone who is young today to remember that, one day you will be old and become an elderly or senior citizen. At that time, you will need someone to visit with you and help you with your needs. If you helped an elderly in your younger years, rest assured that help will come your way. When you give your services to the elderly, do it with understanding and love. Never give your services because someone you know is doing it. Do it because you desire to give the service. Your spirit is refined when you selflessly serve others. Respect the elderly. Help them restore their self-esteem. Volunteer your services. Service is love in action. Show your love by your actions.
